The world of reference help is every changing. Used to be if you wanted to learn how to speak a foreign language for instance, you needed to look for a book. Now we have so many choices: books, book on cassette or cd, even dvd's/vhs tapes. I am sure you can also find a source to teach a foreign language on the internet. For instance download an ebook to your home computer. In short, librarians need to be ready to help with a wide variety of sources for any subject a patron needs information on. It is an ever changing world and we have to be ready for what comes next. They need to keep up to date on all forms of reference in order to help their patrons----or themselves.
Basically, that is what they were saying in all the articles in #15.
Teachers need to require both print resources and also internet resources for the reports they assign their students. Students still need to learn how to look things up in books, but they also need to learn how to do it by the internet.
