#24 File conversion issues

I tried to change a picture that isn't jpg to a jpg yesterday. Didn't have any luck.

I typed something on microsoft word today and sent it to be converterted to html.

I must be doing something wrong. It sends me a link to my email, but to me it looked the same as when I sent it. (Maybe it was already html????) Tried to send it again and change to a pdf file, but couldn't figure out how I got it to go last time. Opened it from my documents and then filled out the rest of the zamzar blocks and it kept telling me I had to choose at least one file. I thought I had. Will try again at a later date.

I can see where this would come in handy for some of our patrons that use different versions of programs and then try to use our computers at the library and can't open it up off their floppy disc. Using this program they could change it to a different format that would work with our program. Or change it to a different program format like publisher for a presentation.

If they know how, or can figure out how, to use the zamzar program that is.

#25 Newsletters

I created a nifty little newsletter about the upcoming chicken roast to be held in Berlin Center on Sept 22. It looked GREAT!

BUT, I found that the only way it would show up on my blog was if I am logged into their site! As soon as I sign out, all that appears on my blog is the page that you create a newsletter on!

I even tried making it public, but that only worked while I was logged into the site too.

It is an easy site to make a little newsletter on. But I give up trying to link it to my blog for now. Had fun trying though!

#26 Widgets

I added a weather widget to the right column of my blog page.
I also added a clock widget!

These are fun!
Now to watch my blog and see if they keep changing!

I also added a link to several more widgets. By the clock and weather widgets in the right column.

#22 e books

I opened a Net Library account and then went in to check out the two sites listed.

With the Net Library site, I kept hitting stone walls. Couldn't find anything on subjects I tried to find, nor did I find anything on authors I liked. Doing something wrong, but what?????

With Digital Library, I found things I recognized and that were of interest to me. Much better.
Will need to download Overdrive or another software in order to be able to download a book to try it. Might already have the Adobe Ebook downloaded already. Will check.

I will try again after talking to my ebook expert at work.

I prefer to hold my book in my hand verses listening to a book.
